Rental and Marriage in Rembrandt`s House
The location
Both Rembrandt's early 17th century home and the new wing of the museum will be exclusively at your disposal. All museum areas are accessible for guests and can be visited with or without a professional guide. Events such as dinners, receptions, lectures and presentations will take place in the auditorium, located in the new wing of the museum. The auditorium is a modern and attractive room, equipped with several technical facilities. It can seat up to 60 people and is suitable for the reception of 120 guests.
Hours
The Rembrandt House Museum is available for events from 5.30 pm till 11 pm, every day of the week.
Technical and other equipment
Lectern, microphone, slide projector, VCR, beamer and cd-player are available in the auditorium of the museum.
Catering
The catering of events is in the hands of Martinair Partyservice. Virtually any requirement can be accommodated, ranging from cocktails and canapés to exclusive dinners and buffets. The caterer will charge you directly for the cost of the catering.
Special activities
Guided tours
A professional guide will take you and your guests through the rooms of Rembrandt's seventeenth-century home and studio. The duration of a guided tour is approximately one hour. There is a maximum of 15 persons per guide.
Etching demonstration
Our demonstrators will show you how etchings were printed in the 17th century and will tell you everything about the etching technique, the printing process and anything you would like to know about graphic art. The demonstrations take place in Rembrandt’s former graphic workshop.
Paint preparation demonstration
This demonstration will show you how paint was made in Rembrandt’s time. In the master’s reconstructed studio you can see how pigments and oil are turned into beautifully coloured paints.
House rules
- For security reasons there are always members of the Rembrandt House staff on the premises during the event.
- All the public areas in the museum are open to the guests with the exception of the
- Rembrandt Information Center, the museum's library.
- Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building.
- The use of fire is prohibited in the whole building.
- Food and drink may only be consumed in the area(s) where it is served by the caterer.
- The Rembrandt House Museum is not available for private parties.
