We like to see our friends
Museum Het Rembrandthuis was Rembrandt’s home. This is where he painted, this is where he created his etchings. In this house he taught his pupils and cherished his art collection. This is where he lived with his family and welcomed his friends. Today, at the Rembrandt House, we are doing everything we can to recapture that atmosphere. The Rembrandt House must remain Rembrandt’s home. Forever. Our museum has a magnificent collection of prints – but we are at least as proud of the reconstruction of Rembrandt’s home and studio. The easels, the brushes, the pigments and the etching press. It is as if the master could use them again at any moment. You can see for yourself how Rembrandt lived. In his studios, in the midst of his collection of art and curios, in the living room cum bedroom, or in the kitchen. In short, you will get to know Rembrandt as artist, as husband, as teacher and as collector. It all serves to increase our fascination with his character and his genius.

The door is always open to friends
Furnishing and equipping the house, the studios and the museum is an expensive business. We also want to stage frequent exhibitions on Rembrandt and his circle. We want to make sure that the Rembrandt Information Centre has the best possible documentation. And we want to organise educational programmes for various categories of visitors on a regular basis. If we are to be able to keep on doing all these things, we really need some help from our friends. Would you like to become a friend of the Rembrandt House? It would mean making an annual financial contribution. You would then become a member of the Friends of the Rembrandt House. We are very happy to welcome new friends. The door is always open to our friends, and they enjoy special privileges and benefits.

Everyone needs friends
The Rembrandt House Museum derives income from admission charges, the museum shop and grants. But this is not enough. Sponsorship, gifts and the membership fees paid by the Friends of the Rembrandt House are an indispensable supplement.

Privileges for friends
For an annual contribution of € 30,= (minimum) you can already become a member. And we always have something extra for friends of the Rembrandt House:
- Free admission to the museum and temporary exhibitions
- 10% discount on items in the Rembrandt House museum shop
- The magazine Rembrandt House Chronicle.
